Education is the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the power of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life.
Education can also be considered as the most powerful weapon to change the world. Therefore a step towards their change needs a thought about the quality of teachers and the way teachers are equipped to meet the challenges of their professional life. Teacher shape and mould the future of the nation by shaping the young minds. So it is important to think about the training imported to them before the face the real classroom situation and their students. In such a situation, qualitative teacher training becomes crucial and imperative. The Khasi Jaiñtia Presbyterian Assembly has initiated a change by establishing Cherra Teachers’ Training Centre at Sohra. The Centre is the oldest Teachers’ Training Institution in the state of Meghalaya. The centre endeavors to create and produce effective and excellent teacher for the society.
At CTTC, we groom young as piring teachers not only for their subjective teaching but for lives too. They are prepared to face the challenges of the modern classroom. We intend to create teachers of tomorrow with the ever trans formative knowledge.
As principal, I am honour to be part of this institution that envisions teacher education in a holistic way. Let us all join hand for this sacred task of creating young dynamic teachers of the future.
